Without freedom of thought, there can be no such thing as wisdom – and no such thing as public liberty without freedom of speech. Benjamin Franklin

Back to a slew of meetings this week. I'm still fighting bronchitis or sinus issues

(it seems like I'm in for the long haul). My car has new tires and gets a missing lug nut tomorrow.

The wisdom quote for this week.
“To resist change, to try to cling to life, is like holding your breath: if you persist, you kill yourself.” — Alan Watts
Change is coming at us faster and faster. We see it in technology, with Artificial Intelligence (AI) becoming a bigger and more significant factor in all parts of our society. We see it in our government as the current President and his cohorts are trying to redefine our society by ignoring the Law and the Constitution.
Alan Watts says we can't resist without killing ourselves, which is a little extreme. We must accept that change is a part of our lives, but we must fight those changes that destroy our rule of law and the Constitution. Remember control whqt you can and ignore the rest.
Technology is changing at a rapid pace. Faster than many of us like. Regardless, artificial intelligence is here to stay. The only question is whether it will be used ethically or not. It has become increasingly easy for writers to develop an outline for an article or book using AI and then change it to meet the writer's desires and ask AI to write the draft text. This can save writers a lot of time but may not be ethical unless they edit and make the piece their own.
AI will affect all parts of society and may have the same impact on "white-collar" jobs as the advent of robotics had on blue-collar jobs. AI will force change over the next few years as we learn to accept the good and reject the bad.
Learning and using AI can be fun. However, AI hallucinates just as people do, so be sure to fact-check the results you get. There are many different AI programs that you can use, as well as programs like MAGAI that give you access to several of the most well-known AI programs for a single monthly price.
Unfortunately, as with all technology, whether it be computers or AI, there is a price. Depending on how many different AI types you may want to use (video, text, image, or music) the cost can mount up quickly and will become another economic factor creating another gulf between the haves and have nots. We need to develop a way for AI to be readily available for all.
As watts says resisting change will lead to you becoming dead to society. So please, learn to use AI and not let it become something you fear!
